FinTech Product Manager

Job description

As Product Manager you will develop new or existing products and projects by identifying their potential, conducting market research and technical feasibility, generating requirements, determining specifications, coordinating development and launch planning. Your responsibility is to research and translate industry problems into solutions through the use of technology and data. Job responsibilities will include:

  • Gather internal and external customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information;

  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future products and projects by reviewing specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas;

  • Actively assess and monitor product use by interfacing with internal or external counterparties, using competitor products or generically following sector communication channels;

  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs;

  • Evaluate technical options and prepare technical designs (including early prototype development) that assist all phases of product development, reducing overall risk and cost;

  • Coordinate project delivery with the engineering team, being responsible for schedule and prioritisation of resources.

  • 5+ years of consulting or equivalent customer-facing experience;

  • Quantitative background in a field of science, finance or economics. Experience or natural aptitude for statistics highly valued;

  • A keen interest in the research process. You'll have to learn about, and be knowledgeable in, a large number of industries and commodities, either independently or with the help of our network of specialists;

  • Someone who enjoys the complexity of the real world, with a high analytical mindset capable of developing models that explain it;

  • Experience in working with large datasets (i.e. we mean databases, not Excel); SQL proficiency highly valued;

  • Knowledge of financial products such as Funds/ETFs, FX, Derivatives, Indices and Commodity trading strongly valued;

  • Experience on logistics and supply chain management strongly valued;

  • Development experience in languages such as SQL, C/C++, Java or Python and being comfortable using these languages to prototype your ideas or validate hypotheses with proprietary or open source code;

  • Being comfortable in bootstrapping your own products and projects by re-using practices across industries and academia.
